A 46-year old man, Ibrahim Gafaru, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly seducing his wife’s 15-year old sister and engaging her in sex after fondling her breasts to get her confused.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Adeola Adefolabi Street, Pipeline area of Fagba, Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, a referral letter from Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency dated 20/2/2025, addressed to the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command was received.
The Referral letter was written on behalf of the victim against the suspect, Ibrahim. It was alleged that she has been sexually assaulted by her aunt’s husband. She stated further that it all started with sexual molestation, where the suspect would touch her breasts inappropriately, that the last incident happened on the 5th & 6th December 2024, and on 15/2/2025 while her aunt was away at a family function, hence the complaint.
Hence, the suspect was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the State Police Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After interrogation,  the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, Ibrahim Gafaru ‘m’, on the 5th & 6th of December 2024, at Adeola Adefolabi Street, Pipeline – Fagba, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did defile the victim 15 years old by having sexual intercourse with her and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
However, the Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor,  Supol Akeem Raji, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, ordered the defendant to be remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
