Man, 48, Bites Off Woman’s Ear During Public Fight

A fight between a 48-year old man, Mark Onuoha and his neighbour, Mrs. Rebecca Amosun, turned bloody after the man gave the woman serious beating and bit off her ear during the squabble in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Mrs. Amosun’s ear fell off, she bled profusely and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital, where she was told that she will have to live the rest of her life without the ear because it cannot be fixed back any longer.

The incident happened on 31st August, 2021, at Itowolo area of Ikorodu, where they reside.

The suspect, Onuoha, whose address was not revealed by the Police, was arrested, And after interrogation and being found culpable, he was later charged before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State, for allegedly biting off a woman’s ear.

He is now facing a two-count charge of assault and causing grievous harm to the victim.
However, he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector Christian Okonofua, told the Court that the defendant committed the alleged offences on 31st August, 2021, at about 7.00am, at Itowolo, Ikorodu, by assaulting Mrs. Rebecca Amosun by beating her up and biting off her left ear, which contravened Sections 245 and 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The alleged offence attracts one year jail term if he is tried and found guilty before the Court.
The Magistrate, Mrs. T. A. Shotobi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N25,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He was remanded in Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions while the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Shotobi, adjourned the case till 13th September, 2021, for mention.
