Man Dies Inside Swimming Pool At Popular Hotel

Police operatives from Ikotun Division in Lagos have arrested the manager and supervisor of a popular hotel after a man was found dead inside the swimming pool in the hotel.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on Saturday at the popular Waters Hotel located at Lawal Bus Stop on Governor’s Road, Ikotun area of Lagos.

The identity of the victim was not disclosed by the Police as they retrieved the corpse and deposited at the mortuary for autopsy report.

It was gathered that the victim was drunk, went to the pool to swim and eventually died inside the pool before the management discovered that he got drown there.
The matter was reported to the Police at Ikotun Division. They held the management culpable and arrested both the manager and supervisor for the incident alleging negligence.

When P.M.EXPRESS correspondent visited Ikotun Police Station, the suspects were still undergoing interrogation over what happened. The DPO, CSP Adagba Johnson, could not be reached as he was said to have gone out for routine monitoring of the area.

However, a Police source said that the suspects may be transferred to the Homicide Department SCIID in Panti, Yaba for further investigation and may be charged for conspiracy and murder over the incident.

The residents have been reacting over the arrest and death of the victim in the hotel. They alleged that there was no basis to hold the management liable over the unfortunate accident because it was not planned and executed by the management whereas the Police insisted that there were no safety measures put in place to protect customers in the pool.
