Man Faces Life Imprisonment For Engaging Neighbour’s Girl, 4, In Sex

A man, Obiesan Sultan, has been arrested and charged before the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Lagos for allegedly engaging his neighbour’s 4-year old girl in sex.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the man, Sultan, has been remanded at the Correctional Centre in Kirikiri town, Lagos, for allegedly defiling girl.
Sultan was arraigned on a two-count charge of defilement and sexual assault by penetration preferred against him by the Lagos State Government.
The State Counsel, Ms. Bukola Okeowo, told the Court that the incident happened on 9th October, 2023, about 9.30am at Ojewale Street, Soluyi, Gbagada in Lagos.
She alleged the defendant defiled the survivor by inserting his penis into her vagina after sexually assaulting the minor by inserting his fingers into her vagina.
According to the prosecutor, the alleged offences violate Sections 137 and 261 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment
She also informed the Court that the prosecution intended to call four witnesses and a Yoruba interpreter would be required.
However, the defendant pleaded not guilty.
The Presiding Judge, Justice Rahman Oshodi, ordered that the defendant be remanded in the Kirikiri Medium Correctional Centre, where he is currently being held without an option of bail.
The matter was adjourned till 6th March, 2025, for commencement of trial.
