Police operatives from the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, Panti, Yaba, have commenced investigation to unravel the circumstances which led to the death of a man, Emmanuel Ayuk, who was found dead inside his hotel room naked.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the popular Zeko Hotel in Ipaja area of Lagos and he was suspected to have been murdered.

Meanwhile, Police operatives from Ipaja Division led by CSP Tokunbo Aboniwonda have temporary shut the hotel, apprehended the head of the management and then transferred them to SCIID for further investigation.

According to the residents who knew about the incident, the late Ayuk lodged in the hotel on 26th July, 2020 and after some days a staff of the hotel went to his room to clean the place only to find him dead.

The matter was reported to the Police at Ipaja Division. They moved in to retrieve the corpse and subsequently deposited at the mortuary for autopsy report.
However, the death became suspicious after the Police asked for the details of the late Ayuk and the hotel management was unable to provide any; even no phone was found in the room to contact his family while no record of his details was equally found in the hotel’s ledger book which contains the names of lodgers.

It was gathered that the deceased was found dead naked without any bag containing his belongings and there was no means to contact his family.
As at now, there was no means to properly identify him or to contact his family due to the negligence of the hotel manager, who failed to get his details before he lodged in the hotel.

When P.M.EXPRESS correspondent contacted the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, he confirmed the incident saying that the matter was under investigation and the outcome of the investigation will be made public.

The late Ayuk was said to hail from Cross River State but there had not been any contact with any member of his family since the incident happened.
