Man Steals Neighbour’s SUV To Sell To Start business

A 26-year old man, Manu Tochukwu has been arrested after he stole his neighbour’s Honda CRV vehicle and planned to sell it in order to start business with the proceed.

The incident happened at Goodluck Jonathan Estate in Idimu suburbs of Lagos where they reside.
The vehicle belongs to Sanni Jubril, who parked it at the compound after he returned from work.
According to police source, Tochukwu had no visible business he was doing and was squatting with his relation in the estate.
How he managed to get the key of the vehicle was still a surprise to the owner and the police who was detailed to investigate the matter, said the police source.
Tochukwu was said to have stolen the car keys, sneaked to where the vehicle was parked, opened it. It was while he was driving it out of the estate that another neighbour who saw him alerted a security man at the entrance gate who stopped and held him.
When he was asked to know how he managed to get the keys and where he was taking the vehicle, he said he picked the key on the ground and was taken it somewhere to sell it and start something with the money.
He was handed over to the police at Idimu division who charged him before Isolo Magistrate’s court with stealing.
He pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs A.K. Shonubi granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 9 December 2016.
