Mayor Okeowo Remains The Bonafide APC Candidate For Ifelodun LCDA – The Party Clears

Posted on June 4, 2025
The All Progressives Congress (APC) family in Ifelodun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos State, said that their attention has been drawn to a mischievous and false report circulating in certain quarters, alleging that their duly nominated and widely accepted flagbearer, Mayor Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo, has been replaced as the party’s candidate.
In a statement signed by Comrade Kamaldeen Iyanda Abdulsalam, the fake news was clear thus:
“This claim is baseless, unfounded, and a blatant lie—one concocted by desperate elements who are attempting to gate-crash into the democratic process after failing to participate legitimately”.
“Let it be on record that the individual being peddled as a supposed “replacement” only arrived in Nigeria three weeks into the APC primary process and has never attended any APC ward, local government, or state meeting in Ifelodun or anywhere in Lagos State. Such an opportunistic move is not only laughable but also insulting to the hardworking and loyal members of our great party.”
“Mayor Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo is a grassroots mobilizer, a loyal party man, and a committed progressive who has aligned fully with the Renewed Hope Agenda of our leader and President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, since the inception of this administration. He has continuously demonstrated an unyielding commitment to the growth and development of Ifelodun LCDA and is poised to continue delivering the dividends of democracy to our people.”
“We urge our teeming supporters, party faithful, and the general public to disregard the fake news and remain steadfast in their support for Mayor Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo, the only authentic and bonafide APC candidate for Ifelodun LCDA.”
