Medical Doctor, 39, Jailed For Stealing General Hospital Beds For His Private Clinic

A 39-year old Medical Doctor, Dr Nwaopara Adolphus Uche, of the Immanuel General Hospital, Eket, has been sentenced to two years in prison for stealing beds belonging to Immanuel Psychiatric Hospital in order to set up his own private clinic in Akwa Ibom State. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the convict, Dr Uche, a native of Mbieri in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, was  caught after he conspired with his accomplice and moved the hospital beds at night to his private clinic.
He was consequently arrested and detained by the Police for interrogation over his alleged conduct. And after thorough investigation, he was found culpable and then charged before the Akwa Ibom State High Court sitting in Eket for the alleged offence.
Following his arraignment, he was found guilty and sentenced accordingly.
The Presiding Judge, Justice Nsemeke Daniel, stated that Dr Uche used his position as the Medical Superintendent of Immanuel Psychiatric Hospital to commit the crime.
Also convicted to one-year imprisonment each were Kubiat Anthony Isidore, a 28-year old wielder from Ikot Idim in Odoro Ikot, Essien Udim Local Government Area, who conspired with the doctor and Felix Samuel Ekwere, a 35-year old security man in Immanuel General Hospital, from Ekpene Obo in Esit Eket, who was caught moving out some of the stolen hospital beds from the hospital at night.
The security man, Ekwere reportedly confessed to the Police that it was the convicted Medical Superintendent, who sent him to do so before they were caught.
They were consequently prosecuted by the State through the Ministry of Justice.
