World Youth Deliberate On SDG 2030 At UN #DecadeOfYouthEvent

Youths and leaders from all over the world were at the United Nations Secretariat in New York, USA on 4 March, 2020, with a common goal of impacting and re-orienting today’s youth on sustainable development.

Music producer Michael O. Sajere aka “Jay Vybes” was among the youth representatives who were at the event as one of the African youth representatives.

“It was a privilege to be part of this once in a lifetime event and the generation concerned about the future of the world and how we can all develop lasting methods to achieve the ultimate sustainable goals for a better tomorrow,” Jay Vybes said.

The aim of the gathering was to begin conversations with a view to building a bridge between the older generation and today’s generation.

Tagged #DecadeOfYouthAction the focus of the talk centered around SDGs and was marked by dialogues and campaigns around climate change emergency, world peace, conflict resolution, gender inequality, child labour, human trafficking, poverty, inadequate education and health facilities.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) or Global Goals are a collection of 17 interlinked goals designed as a “blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all”.

This decade, the focus is on action and mobilisation of the youth to achieve SDGs 2030. The SDGs were set in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly and are intended to be achieved by the year 2030.

Michael Sajere (jnr) better known as ‘Jay Vybes’ is a filmmaker, record label owner, movie producer, businessman and philanthropist.

He is the managing/ creative director of Nevada Bridge Productions, CEO & Founder Nevada Music Group (NMG) and is currently based in Atlanta, Georgia.
