MTV World Stage Presents: Global Citizen Prize Debut On MTV Base Sunday

On Sunday 29 December, MTV Base DStv Channel 322 will bring viewers highlights from the Global Citizen Prize #GCPrize2019.

WHAT: “MTV World Stage Presents: Global Citizen Prize” will offer viewers a unique music special capturing the performances from Global Citizen Prize award ceremony, filmed at London’s Royal Albert Hall, including never-before-seen musical collaborations from some of the world’s leading artists.

The special will also feature several of the awards presentations and honourees who achieved meaningful impact, as well as “MTV Generation Change” interstitials featuring young activists recently honoured with the “MTV EMA Generation Change” award. MTV Generation Change elevates and empowers fearless, original activists and youth leaders who are changing the world through music, storytelling and innovation.

WHO: Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, Raphael Saadiq, Sting, Stormzy and special guests Chris Martin, H.E.R. and Jorja Smith.

WHEN: The “MTV World Stage: Global Citizen Prize” will premiere on MTV Base DSTV Channel 322 on Sunday, 29 December at 8:00pm WAT, with repeats on Tuesday, 31 December at 7:00pm WAT, on Friday, 3 January at 12:00pm WAT and on Saturday, 4 January at 8:00am WAT.

Global Citizen Prize is the first major event of Global Citizen’s 2020 campaign, Global Goal Live: The Possible Dream.

Global Citizen, in partnership with Teneo, the global CEO advisory firm, is conducting a year-long campaign to get the world back on track to achieve the United Nations Global Goals by 2030.

Working alongside, and in support of the United Nations, this campaign will call on governments, philanthropists, and the private sector to step forward, take responsibility for the goals, and provide the $350 billion needed annually for people and the planet to achieve the Global Goals in the 59 poorest countries.
