Nigeria Nationwide League One Super Eight Tournament Kicks Off

Organisers of Nigeria Nationwide League One Super Eight tournament have expressed their readiness to organize a successful tournament in Lagos.
The competition, which is sponsored by popular sports betting company, Bet9ja kicked off Tuesday at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.
Eight teams are participating in the five days event. The teams are AS Racine FC, My People FC, Bida Lions, FC Abuja, FRSC FC, Yobe Desert Stars, Papilo FC and Enyimba Feeders.
Speaking with journalists in Lagos, Interim Chairman of Nationwide League One (NLO), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau said they are in Lagos to host a colourful and hitch free tournament and urged journalists to give the tournament good coverage.
“We are all set to kick start the Super Eight tournament and all the teams are in Lagos except Yobe Desert Stars who have informed us that they could not make it to Lagos. We are expecting the tournament to produce future players that will play in the Premier League and senior national teams in the nearest future,” he said.
Gusau commended the title sponsor, Bet9ja Sporting Company for its contribution to the development of round leather game in the country and promised that the maiden edition of the tournament being hosted in Lagos will be better organized.
He charged all the participating teams to abide by the rules and regulations and ensure that the avoid vices that can bring the tournament into disrepute.
Secretary of the league, Olusola Ogunnowo, said the competition will give an opportunity to the premier league club owners and other football scouts to discover good players.
The winners of the competition will be crowned as the overall champions for the 2015/2016 Nigeria Nationwide League season.
