President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Oluwaseun Mayomi Faleye as the Managing Director of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), marking a significant shift for the organization.

This strategic appointment is expected to bring experience and dynamic leadership to the NSITF, ensuring the organization continues to fulfill its mandate to promote the enforcement of occupational safety and health standards in the workplace and implement comprehensive compensation for workers in Nigeria for any death, injury, disease or disability arising from or in the course of their employment.

Faleye brings to the role over two decades of experience spanning both the public and private sectors.

His career is characterized by exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and a strong track record of performance in both public and private sector roles.

Faleye’s extensive background includes notable roles in the Lagos State Civil Service, where he served as Assistant Director and Principal Private Secretary to the former Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN.

In these capacities, he was instrumental in the successful execution of numerous high-impact projects, which not only improved public infrastructure across the State but also significantly enhanced public services delivery in Lagos State.

In the private sector, Faleye has demonstrated his considerable expertise in corporate and commercial law practice in his capacity as the Managing Partner of Fides & Fiducia, a commercial law firm.

He has led his team to deliver complex commercial transactions cutting across project finance, private equity finance, oil and gas, power, dispute resolutions, mergers and acquisitions.

His extensive experience in public administration and the private sector uniquely positions him to navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead at the NSITF.

Faleye’s appointment as the Managing Director of NSITF is expected to bring a new era of operational efficiency and enhanced service delivery at the organization. His vision and leadership are anticipated to drive significant improvements in the management of social insurance schemes, benefiting millions of Nigerian workers.

President Tinubu’s decision to appoint Faleye as the MD of NSITF reflects a commitment to effective governance and impactful leadership.

With Faleye at the helm, the NSITF is well-positioned to achieve its goals and continue providing critical social insurance services to the Nigerian workforce hinged on a solvent compensation fund managed in the interest of all stakeholders.
