Nike And Women Win Inspired SHE Project Holds In Lagos

Thursday 6 October 2022 would be a day to be remembered for the lucky students who took part in the first-ever SHE Project organised by the Asisat Oshoala Academy in a program to enrich  African girl-child through education and sports.

The SHE Project, an all-encompassing initiative, is designed as Sports Intervention, Humanitarian Intervention and Educational Intervention program for the targeted communities.

 

The venue, Vetland Grammar School in Agege, Lagos was a beehive of activities as seasoned coaches and life skills experts exposed the participants to the concepts of the objectives of the programme which include increasing basic knowledge of adolescent girls around basic life skills such as communication and gender, menstruation and hygiene, financial literacy topics, exposing participants to new sports skills,  reinforce already learned sports skills, advance the creation of an enabling environment for adolescent girls by engaging community members (peer groups, families, teachers and community stakeholders).
Speaking about the HE Project, the FC Barcelona femini player and former captain of Nigeria’s Super Falcons said: “I have always strived to give back to the girl-child in my community and I believe Asisat Oshoala Academy will provide opportunities for more girls to excel through the combination of sports and education. I want to thank our partners Women Win and Nike for helping bring this platform to life. Together we can go further and achieve a lot more.”
This event was facilitated by the Asisat Oshoala Foundation, Asisat Oshoala Academy in partnership with Nike and Women Win.
