Nollywood veteran, Saint Obi Nwafor and his estranged wife, Lynda Amobi are currently locked in a bitter divorce row.

The star actor had approached the High Court of Ogun State sitting in Otta in 2019 and initiated a divorce procedure on the basis of an alleged attempt on his life, reportedly orchestrated by his now estranged wife and her brothers, Michael Amobi and Chukwumobi Amobi.

In the suit number HCT/128/2019 filed by Saint Obi, the actor accused Lynda, an MTN Nigeria big shot, of allegedly “imprisoned” the couple’s three children by hiring Mobile Police officers to protect them without his permission and therefore preventing him access to their children.

He also accused Lynda of sabotaging the entire process as she has repeatedly failed to appear in court whenever the case was called up.

This has forced the sitting Judge, Justice Omotayo O. Majekodunmi, to issue a bench warrant for Lynda’s arrest.

Lynda and Saint Obi married at a lavish ceremony in December 2006 at the Amobi Family hometown in Anambra. They both has three children –two boys and a girl.

Before now, Saint Obi and Lynda had managed to keep their troubled marriage discreetly without public attention.

Saint Obi, who left the movie industry years ago to pursue a different career, is no stranger to divorce controversies, as his first marriage to the daughter of a Lagos pastor also ended in messy divorce years ago.

Born Obinna Nwafor on November 16, 1965, the talented actor and model is a Theatre Arts graduate from the University of Jos.

He debuted in the acting scene in 1996 after featuring in a popular Peugeot Commercial on NTA.

The Okpa, Mbaitolo Local Government Area of Imo State-native later went on to star in numerous successful Nollywood movies and soaps including Candle Light, Sakobi, Goodbye Tomorrow, Heart of Gold, Festival of Fire, Executive Crime and Last Party.
