Obudu German Hospital: The Ben Ayade Legacy

In this connection, governments after governments embark on health projects that will uplift the health of the people by siting health projects in key areas where such projects may be lacking and will be of great benefits to the people.
That brief synopsis summarizes the very rationale behind the well conceived and now fully completed Obudu German Hospital which the people oriented administration of His Excellency, Senator (Prof) Ben Ayade, Digital Governor of Cross River State, has conceived and ably accomplished in Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River State.
Conceptualized as a health enhancing hospital for all category of persons, the Obudu German Hospital has all the cravings of the most modern and most sophisticated hospital that can be found anywhere in the world.
Its location, facilities, medical personnel and expected excellent services can numb the most stringent of the critics of Governor Ben Ayade.
On a recent Facility Tour of the hospital to assess the level of completion and its preparedness for commissioning, a media team with special focus on the legacies of Governor Ben Ayade, met with the Medical Consultant at the hospital, Dr. Sunny Clement, who maintained without mincing words that the hospital is indeed one of the foremost medical facilities ever conceived and one of the best hospitals not only in the South South geopolitical Zone and Nigeria as a whole but also, around the world.
The Medical Officer, while conducting the media crew round the hospital, said that the hospital boasts of the latest medical facilities comprising of 140 beds fully equipped with mamography machines, 3 operation theatres, Dialysis machine as well as the Dental Care Section.
He said further that work is in top speed to get it commissioned so as to enable it to open its gates to those who will make history as its first set of patients.
He noted with pride that the Obudu German Hospital will take its proper place in the exclusive club of the highest standard hospitals in the country while maintaining a cordial patient/doctor relationship.
Dr. Sunny Clement advised all those who spend huge amounts in both local and foreign currencies to seek medical attention and medical tourism abroad to immediately desist from doing so and come to Obudu for what they seek elsewhere around the world.
He maintained that the most sophisticated medical equipment needed in any modern hospital globally has been Installed to provide world class services. It includes, the MRI 1.5 Siemens which is currently the best worldwide is functional in the hospital. He reiterated that the MRI 1.5 Siemens with a huge financial budget, is a wholly comprehensive machine needed to do the most delicate of all bodily examinations. It can see even through the brain tissues and reveal the cause of ailments.
He expressed the hope that very soon, the hospital will be filled to the brim with patients from across the globe as medical tourists all over the world, are also being expected especially with the presence of the Obudu International Airport and the Ranch Resort for ease of transportation and accommodation.
He maintained that Doctors and other medical personnel will come from India, the United States, Egypt, United Kingdom as well as Italy, among others, while also maintaining a very high complement of local medical and paramedical staff.
Dr Sunny Clement also revealed that the Obudu German Specialist Hospital has an Italian made Morgue that has a total of 48 spaces for the proper preservation of corpses before burials. He also assured that His Excellency, Governor Ben Ayade brought in the best Medical Incinerator and it was manufactured in the United States.
Dr. Sunny Clement revealed that there are also Private VIP Rooms with every facility that would be needed. He also disclosed that there is an automated lift which has already been installed at the hospital and it has a net weight of 1,775 kg and it was installed in 2022.
Incidentally and worthy of mention is that the automated lift at the Obudu German Hospital is the first lift in the whole of the Northern Senatorial District.
Also speaking on the legacies of Governor Ben Ayade, the Cross River State All Progressives Congress (APC) spokesperson, Chief Okoi Obono Obla, said that Governor Ben Ayade has done creditably well and his legacies will for long continue to draw encomiums.
The APC campaign Spokesperson condemned in strong terms, all derogatory remarks insinuating that Governor Ben Ayade’s projects are phantom projects and admonished all Cross Riverians to take a trip to the Obudu German Hospital and see things for themselves to avoid hasty generalisations.
He described Governor Ben Ayade as a reservoir of knowledge whose contributions to state craft are worthy of emulation, adding that it takes a great mind to conceive and complete a project such as the Obudu German Hospital.
In the same vein, a former member of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Cletus Obun, said it was really shocking to him that such a huge project as the Obudu German Hospital is in existence in Cross River State. He called on Governor Ben Ayade to immediately commission the hospital and put it to public.
Hon. Obun promised to advertise the hospital in his various social media platforms as the hospital and other key projects, noting that Governor Ben Ayade truly deserves some accolades.
He praised the sophistication of the facilities at the hospital adding that they are of world class standard and this can be discerned even from a lay man’s point of view.
He further noted that Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade has indeed laid down a prosperity framework for the state and his indelible legacies when fully operational will transmogrify Cross River State into the industrial hub of Africa.
