Omita The Charming Stream

There are so many natural resources hidden in the belly of the earth, impatiently crying for exploration within the coast of the sub-Saharan Africa,. The economic value of a number of them is being undermined by the leadership of most of the privileged communities hosting those resources.
Thousands of Tourists attraction in Africa, alas, they are yet to see the light of the day. One of such is “Omita”, the charming, natural and most tasteless stream, whose dwelling place is in the land of my nativity, Ijesa-Isu Ekiti, streaming silently out of snaky conduit of an ancient rock,
Omita
In the dawning of the day
At the crowing of first rooster
In chilly winter along pebble path
Down the way to stream we go
Omita
Up the hill and down the slope
Yelling and chanting old melodies
Birds on trees singing along
Merrily…merrily to stream we go
Omita
The charming ancient stream
Flowing amidst snaky conduit
Resting upon glassy pebbles bed
So clean…so tasteless… so pure
Omita
Your origin remains unreachable
In rock belly buried so deeply
Drank of our progenitors
Of generations untraceable
Omita
Great wonder is the cleft
That receives you on arrival
Whittled by invisible hands
Like a pot in middle of the rock
