The ONELGA and Ahoada East Chapters of the Orashi National Congress (ONC) have carpeted a calculated plot to tarnish the reputation of its President General, Amb. Comrade Emeni Ibe, who also doubles as the leader of the Southern Youth Foundation.
The two chapters, in different statements issued by Snr. Comrade Eze Nwaobigwe for ONELGA and Snr Comrade Ekpeye Chisa for Ahoada East,
condemned the orchestrated attempts aimed to assassinate the character of the respected leader through false and malicious stories.
Following the reactions that trailed the plot, they expressed unwavering confidence in the leadership and integrity of Amb. Comrade Emeni Ibe. They called on journalists and media professionals to ensure thorough verification of any information related to his person or activities before publication, warning against the spread of falsehoods aimed at discrediting him.
“We will not be deterred by attempts to blackmail him or undermine his noticeable efforts to promote the well-being of our people,” the statement read. “We stand with him for truth and transparency, and we will continue to support him in championing the causes of our organization despite recent attempts to discredit him.”
They highlighted growing concerns over the rising trend of character assassination in the region, particularly targeting individuals and organizations working for the advancement of the Orashi people. They described the development as a deliberate move to undermine progress and unity in the community.
The chapters of the ONC also reiterated their commitment to supporting Amb. Comrade Emeni Ibe, describing him as a transparent and dedicated leader who has worked tirelessly to promote the rights and interests of the Orashi people. They vowed to resist any attempt to distract the organization from its mission.
This development comes against the backdrop of Amb. Comrade Emeni Ibe’s increasing influence in advocating for the well-being of the Orashi people and his strong support for the administration of His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the Executive Governor of Rivers State.
The public has been urged to remain vigilant and disregard any false information designed to erode trust and disrupt peaceful coexistence in the region.
