‘Oyetola Worse Governor Osun State Ever Had’

To those who care to listen, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the southwest of Nigeria, Comrade Yahaya Majeed, has described the incumbent governor of Osun State, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola as the worse Executive Governor the state ever had since its creation some years back.

In an exclusive interview on Sunday, Comrade Yahaya noted that he is speaking as an insider who knows how things work in the state and who has contributed to the development of the state in the areas of education, economic empowerment, agriculture and others, “so I am given my judgement as a competent authority who knows what is happening in the state,” he said.

“I think Governor Oyetola supposed to think twice before presenting himself for re-election as a member of Governor Mai Mala Buni-led National Caretaker Committee, which came to Osun State to conduct a sham primary. How could we have a free and fair primary from a caretaker committee of which Oyetola is a member? We should begin to tell ourselves the truth now before they destroy the party for us.

“I can also tell you that Oyetola is a governor who allowed his hatred for one man to hinder the opportunities that were supposed to come to the citizens of the state.  To make it clear to some doubting Thomases, he allowed his hatred for the former governor, Rauf Aregbesola to stop the flow of investments and projects to Osun State. I have facts and figures of what I am saying. Don’t forget that he is the governor of over three million people, and he took his hatred for Ogbeni too far to debar people who have projects, opportunities and investments from seeing the light of the day. Any development that comes through his ‘perceived enemy’ won’t go no matter how good it is. This is not the kind of leader APC should be projecting.

“I can also tell that very unfortunate, the Osun State Governor surrounds himself with lots of sycophants. The sycophants who are senators, House of Representatives members and others won’t tell the governor the truth because they want to seek re-elections in 2023. But I want to tell them that they are joking because the people are wise. They are all going nowhere. So sad that many of these people were empowered by this same Ogbeni they now see as a bad man.

“We could remember how the mandate of Osun people gave to the opposition was hijacked for Governor Oyetola, and now he is seeking re-election. Do you think the people are foolish? They said over 200,000 APC voted during Saturday primary, let us see how many of them will vote during the real election. We all saw the wreck the pulling out of Adeoti from APC caused the party in the last gubernatorial election that brought Oyetola to power. The party is in disarray now and you want to win an election. Mother of all shocker is awaiting Oyetola in this July 2022 election. We can’t wait to see their mess,” Comrade Yahaya said.
