A clergyman, Pastor Ekejiuba George, has landed in trouble for allegedly tempting a married woman, Blessing Nwafor and was caught by her husband, Chika Nwafor, in FCT, Abuja.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that George has been arrested and charged before the
Magistrate Court in Gwagwalada, FCT, for allegedly enticing a married woman.
The arrest followed a report by the woman’s husband, Chika Nwafor, to the Police. The man alleged that Pastor George wanted to snatch his wife, Blessing Nwafor, by enticing her.
Thus, the Police arrested and found him culpable during interrogation. They consequently charged him before the Court over the alleged conduct.
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The Presiding Magistrate, Olatunji Oladunmoye, granted him bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety in like sum, who must reside within the Court’s jurisdiction.
The complainant’s counsel, Eze Osinachi, had told the Court that the complainant, Mr. Chika Nwafor is a pastor within the jurisdiction of the court.
He said the complainant alleged that the defendant was in the habit of enticing his wife, Mrs. Blessing Nwafor, since they got married, in spite several warnings and pleadings.
Osinachi alleged that the defendant usually calls the complainant’s wife at midnight, and sometimes the complainant’s wife would go outside and have conversation with him (the defendant).
“The defendant and the complainant’s wife exchange pictures of each other via their WhatsApp number and had been spotted in some places at odd hours of the day.”
“The defendant has been doing everything humanly possible to cause a breakup in the marriage between the complainant and his wife as he constantly incites the complainant’s wife against the complainant.”
“In spite of the interventions of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) of Tunga Maje, the defendant has not stopped enticing the complainant’s wife and interfering in their marriage,” he said.
He said that the complainant seeks the Court to compel the defendant to stop enticing his wife and interfering in his marriage.
Osinachi said that the offence contravened the provision of Section 389 of the Penal Code.
The matter was adjourned till 22nd July, 2024, for hearing while the defendant was remanded in custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
