The founder and General overseer of Kingdom Power International Christian Praying Center, Pastor Azuka Ohez, has raised alarm over alleged plans by the Pastor of Deeper Life Church, Emmanuel Iheagwazi, to eliminate him and members of his family in Lagos State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Pastor Ohez raised the alarm in a save our souls petition dated 15th September, 2023, to the Inspector General of Police seeking for the intervention of the IGP.

In the petition by Ohez written through the chamber of Barrister Okwudiri Alagbu to the IGP,  it stated that Pastor Iheagwazi of the Deeper Life Church in Sokoto State, who is doing business in Lagos State, was in a desperate move to eliminate him and close down his church. He was said to have hired members of his family including his wife and elderly mother falsely and used against their wishes, initiated petition which led to the malicious prosecution of Pastor Ohez in the Magistrate Court in Lagos and Anambra States.

Pastor Ohez alleged that Iheagwazi plotted to use his detention to eliminate him through torture and poisoning, which failed as he planned to use his Sokoto State based younger brother, Chidiebere Iheagwazi and sister, Chinasa Luke including his servant, Chijioke Ezeh, to initiate his arrest in order to eliminate him.

“The war of attrition by Emmanuel Iheagwazi started on 21st March, 2023, when he invaded Ohez’s church during worship with combined team of Policemen and armed horde of trigger happy private army said to be his personal body guards.”

“He manhandled Ohez, wife and other members of the church; tortured them and caused violence in order to instill fear and discourage them from coming to the church.”

Pastor Iheagwazi also staged a protest in the neighbourhood using placards with inscriptions,” Prophet Azuka is a false prophet” and destroyed the corporate image of the church and his reputation and later arrested him, the wife and five other members and detained them for four days but was not able to get any evidence against them. Thus, the Police released them on bail at SCID, Yaba, Lagos.

Again, he went to Zone 2 Onikan and wrote another petition and Ohez was arrested and charged before Igbosere Magistrate Court. But the Magistrates refused to keep him in custody because there was no evidence. He was therefor,  granted bail and was released from custody after 10 days.

Pastor Iheagwazi went again to FCID, arrested the Ohez and detained him in Abuja. But he was granted bail and he moved to Anambra State. There he used the Area Commander in Ihiala town, came to Lagos, arrested him and subsequently he was charged before the Magistrate Court and remanded in custody for several days in Anambra State.

At that point, the Presiding Magistrate in charge of the matter gave stringent bail conditions, which included that it was only the President General and General Secretary of Okija Town Union that can only stand as surety for him in the whole Anambra State.

“In a desperation to destroy Prophet Ohez, Iheagwazi while investigation was still going on at the Police Force Headquarters, went and forged the IGP’s investigation report and claimed that it was the IGP’s directives but the investigation team from the IGP disowned and denied the report, which bore no Police letterhead paper.”

“Against the backdrop of the foregoing facts therefore, we urged you Sir to use your good office to intervene in this case to end these mindless acts of brutality against our client by bringing the respondents to account for their said act” the petition stated.
