PHOTOS: Team Lagos’ Medalists Receive Instant Cash Rewards

The Lagos State Government has been rewarding Team Lagos athletes who have registered their names on the podium winning medals for the state at the ongoing 21st National Sports Festival tagged Delta 2022.

These cash rewards are being given out through the Lagos State Sports Commission, which ensured the athletes are motivated to do the state proud in their respective sports.

The instant cash rewards are being given to the gold, silver and bronze medal winners.

Captain of Team Lagos, Koleosho Ahmed Olanrewaju hailed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the attention he has been given to the state’s athletes since he assumed power, adding that the instant cash rewards is a way of encouraging the athletes to put in more effort as they exercise their God-given talents.

Some sports associations chairmen, who were on ground at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba to present the medalists with their rewards, commended the management of the Lagos State Sports Commission for its proactive approach in seeing that athletes’ welfare is given priority.

Meanwhile, more medals have been won on Day 5 of the tournament. Lagos got two gold and I bronze medals in taekwondo, a gold medal in Wushu Kung-fu in Taolu event, so also there was a kickboxing bronze medal. Weightlifting bronze in the clean and jack class 45kg. There was also a gold medal in T37-38 men track event.
