Police Arrest Gunmen Who Abducted & Murdered Retired General After Collecting $50, 000 Ransom

Operatives from the Imo State Police Command have arrested suspected abductors and murderers of Major General Richard Duru (Rtd). 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the retired General was kidnapped along Bishops Court, Area 7 Orji/Uratta Owerri, and his black Mercedes Benz GL 450 car with registration number LND 826 NG was snatched by the deadly syndicate on 27th September, 2023.

The assailants were said to have killed the victim after collecting a ransom of 50,000 US dollars from his family. This unfortunate incident caused apprehension amongst the residents of the State.

Parading the suspects before newsmen, the State Police Command spokesperson, ASP Henry Okoye, said the ever-gallant operatives of the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit led by CSP Oladimeji Odeyeyiwa, immediately commenced an intense manhunt for the members of the criminal syndicate, who are notorious on the Command’s wanted list and were able to track them.
