Operatives from the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 30-year old pregnant woman, identified as Eucharia Ndigwe, for allegedly stabbing her maid, identified as Chinaza Aneme, with a knife for failing to wash a bag.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the unfortunate incident occurred on Friday, 19th May, 2023, at Adaloko, Ojo LGA of Lagos State.
The Lagos PPRO, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the suspect’s arrest on Saturday, May 20.
“The woman was arrested. It was discovered that she is heavily pregnant and was transferred to the Gender Unit of the Command, where they will work with the Lagos State Domestic, Sexual and Gender Violence Agency.”
“While she is there, they will take care of her medically while the investigation is ongoing,” he said.
Before the arrest of the pregnant suspect, one of their neighbours, who said the woman was fond of subjecting the house maid to different forms of inhumane treatment, said he saw Aneme writhing in pain and engaged her.
Upon interrogation, the house maid, who hails from Anambra State, said, “My aunt used a knife to pierce my body because I did not wash a bag”.
Infuriated by the development, the neighbour did a video clip that showed Aneme disclosing the circumstances surrounding the attack that made her bleed profusely at her back.
In the video clip that had been trending on social media, the neighbour was heard saying that the woman’s husband had been threatening him for exposing his wife’s actions.
