According to an Austrian-American management consultant, educator, and author, Peter Ducker posited that “Effective leadership is not about making speeches or being liked; leadership is defined by results not attributes”. While I am aligning  myself totally with the definition of leadership given by this great philosopher cum author, I will also love to bring it down as it concerns who represents the people of Imo East (Owerri Zone) in the red chambers of the National Assembly (Senate) come next year 2023.

Prince Alex Mbata of the All Progressives Congress (APC) among other candidates who are seeking to be elected or re-elected to represent Imo East in the senate in 2023, is standing tall with long list of verifiable scorecard or positive imprints in every nook and crannies of Owerri Zone. Saying that Prince Mbata who is coming from the private sector has more accomplishments in the areas of rendering succor to the poor, creating job opportunities for the youths, building of critical infrastructures such as roads, provision of welfare packages for widows, business support scheme and empowerment for petty traders than many that have been in the corridors of power for many years is not an understatement.
Mere looking or listening to Prince Alex Mbata whenever he speaks, I have always loved the way and manners by which he comports himself. He is not known to be a man of too many words rather he is strategically aimed at achieving the needed results that is to say that Prince Alex Mbata is a man that “walks the talk”.  While we agree that Prince Mbata is a green horn in the political system, his good deeds and unchallengeable records of antecedents shouldn’t be taken away but rather should be a unique selling point for him.
Owerri Zone is advantaged to be the host of the capital city of Imo State yet parades the highest number of underdeveloped rural communities in the State with poor road network, dilapidated schools, markets, health care giving facilities among others; these  are  worrisome and could be traced to ineffectual performances of some people that have represented the zone in various elective capacities in the past. Times are changing, new generation leaders are emerging and the people of Owerri Zone must take the leverage and start giving deaf ears to petty sentiments, political party segregation and gossips to make a choice that will bring good fortunes for Owerri Zone in 2023.
Sadly, the insignificant few who are more interested in pursuing their selfish political interest and personal gains at the detriment of the generality of Ndi Owerri Zone are supporting candidates who lacks leadership characters and they have also continued to sponsor malicious, denigrating and untrue stories against the candidature of Prince Alex Mbata. One thing they cannot take away is the fact that Mbata’s aspiration is like a moon and Igbo people say that “Aka enweghị ike ikpuchi ọnwa“ (Hand can’t cover the moon).
The simple majority of Owerri Zone must be resolute and up and doing in defending, promoting, projecting, debunking their lies and spreading the good news of a man whom God has raised at this time to give a facelift and recover all that have been lost for Ndi Owerri zone.
That man whom we know to be eloquent in speaking and sensitive to our yearnings. That man who sited many of his industries, companies in the soil of Owerri Zone thereby creating  job opportunities for our youths, supported our traders, empowered our artisan, uplifted the poor, built our roads, churches, markets and schools and has continued to advocate for the advancement and development of  Owerri zone with his personal resources and earnings is a peerless candidate, he is worthy to be sent to represent us in the Senate. Owerri zone let’s get it right this time with Prince Alex Mbata.
