Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo Got Almost Everything Right (Until..)

WHAT HE GOT RIGHT:

1. He simplified the office of the governor and reduced the flamboyancy around it.

 

2. Neutralised the cabal that usually surround the seat of power.

 

3. Made political appointment less attractive to the extent that the current appointees did not become larger than life which was usually the case.

 

4. Adopted a cost-effective approach to governance which has seen him embark on and being able to finance numerous projects targeted at addressing the yearnings of the people, amongst others.

 

Prof got everything right until he dabbled into politics (an area of his weakness) in a manner that angered the emotions and sensibilities of a great number of the people he governed, and these very large group of people are raging to pay him back without looking back!

 

When I think of the Soludo situation, I remember those moments I think I have tightened all the lose ends at home in terms of bills and responsibilities, without knowing that one emotional loose-end can negate all my efforts and make it seem as If I have failed in my core responsibilities. Most married people know this!

 

Today, a good number of Ndi Anambra want to nail the Governor for trampling on their emotions, and make no mistake these people have all it takes to succeed. Yes, they do, because emotions spread wider and faster than any other part of human nature, including logic.

 

In my opinion, Mr. Governor should focus on his strengths and leave politics for those who are great at it. He should continue the good work he is doing and stay away from actions that could stir negative emotions against him.
