Budding singer, cosmetologist and entrepreneur, Cynthia Bernard has described her launched into a career behind the mic as an act of God that started from the Catholic Church when she was in primary school.

Bernard, who is popularly called Queen Cynthia, recently released her first single titled Unspeakable Gift under the stable of Clax 1 Records.

The Edo State – born singer said; “I’ve always loved music which I started from the choir in the Catholic Church when I was in Primary 3. I remembered when I was given a Psalm to sing one Sunday at such age, it was a great performance. I was actually good at singing, even among my colleagues in the choir then, I  always stood out in all the church activities we were given to do. Singing is one thing I love to do.  It is just like a food to me, ” said the 20-year-old Queen Cynthia.

She said that “at a tender age, just when Destiny’s Child started, I do disturb my mother about organising a singing group for me, but then she would just laugh at me wondering if I really knew what I was doing.”

On what inspired her debut single, Unspeakable Gift, Queen Cynthia said that “it’s simply love unspeakable. If we look at our world today, not only the ladies that go after men for material reasons, men do the same and I believe relationship with unconditional love last longer.”

To Queen Cynthia, her love for songs from the West also inspires her into music, saying “I’ve always loved western songs and I got so many inspirations which give me directions into how best I can develop myself and my music.

“My single is definitely coming out late because I’ve always wanted it out a long time ago, but other issues kept holding me back. And now that I’ve started, by God’s grace I’ll do all it takes to keep soaring with the support of people around me,” she said.
