Re: Why I Stand With President Bola Tinubu

Posted on August 9, 2024

In recent times, there have been several opinions, strong opinions against this administration of Bola Tinubu; some opinions are worth consideration, but others are sheer hate and baseless agitation simply because they do not like the man who is heading the affairs of the country. Therefore, anyone who strongly advocates for him comes under their hate, vitriol, and innuendos as if we are not practising democracy that allows different shades of opinions.

I chose to stand with President Tinubu, and this is not going down well with some people; the choice to defend his administration further aggravates them because if I believe in a cause, I speak about it. As a result of this, I have had to face several attacks, including death threats from, largely, people from my extraction – the North. These threats are not the usual noise from Mr. Peter Obi’s barbarian e-rodents. Those ones have always and will not stop at attacking anyone they see speaking for the current administration. It has become more of an idiosyncrasy for them. The recent attacks originate majorly from within the North, by those who felt I was becoming a major force to reckon with, being a ‘minority’ from the enclave North, by the Tinubu-led administration.

Unknown to these forces, when I went all out to root for then Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu from 2021 through 2022, I had 100% confidence that he was the right to succeed the then President Muhammadu Buhari and would also not let Nigerians down in the end.

Regardless of whatever that transpired between the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries on June 6, 2022 and February 25, 2023, it was a decision based on the donkey years experience of the minority from the North, and the fear (which is innate in every homo sapien – the survival instincts) that the endangered minority may ultimately be extinct.

I am from the North. What I saw, six months after (now) President Bola Tinubu came on board gave me relief, sense of belonging, and some level of assurance that actually proved that, ‘whatever a man wants is on the other side of FEAR.’ Mr. President has proven (and still continues to prove) that every ethnic nationality in Nigeria is given a voice. It is a perspective that may be viewed differently. After all, what somebody sees as 9, others may see as 6.

For me, I see greater Nigeria in President Tinubu. I believe in his capacity, capability, and resoluteness to rework Nigeria. President Tinubu is human and therefore can make mistakes, but his head and heart I believe is in the right place to position Nigeria on a path to prosperity and equal opportunities for all and sundry.

In spite of the endless online attacks, aspersions, and castigations of my person, including some cases death threats, either by those who are angered I left their camp, or by those who are jealous I did not join their camp or infact by those who are envious of my reception by the President, I will continue to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR because we have a country to salvage, not with the humongous rape of the economy in recent past. The voracious appointees of past administration who saw our common patrimony as free food that must be esuriently and edaciously devoured, Nigeria needs a Tinubu presidency that must right the several wrongs.

So help him, God!
