RMD, Desmond Elliot, Patoranking Bag HAPAwards 2020 Nominations

Ahead of Sunday’s Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards (HAPAwards), the 2020 nomination list parades several top Nigerian celebrities.

The virtual event with theme: “I Am Because We Are One” is set to recognize outstanding talents and reward creativity on www.hapawards.com with nominations like Richard Mofe-Damijo, Desmond Elliot, Patoranking and others across the movie, music, comedy and arts industry.

The 2020 Nominations from diverse genre also spotted Wema Sepetu, OC Ukeje, IK Ogbonnaya, Bimbo Manuel, Chris Attoh, Robert Peters, Chef Shaw, Kate Henshaw, Kristy Diamond and many others.

Organizers of HAPAwards also announced the duo of American Comedian, Michael Blackson and Ugandan Socialite, Zari Boss Lady, as hosts of the 4th annual Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards.

An online chat with Mr. Adeola Odunowo, Producer and African Representative of the HAPAwards, revealed the big idea behind the award theme.

He noted that as the world battles different set of challenges, especially with the effect of COVID pandemic ravaging economics, the event provides a unique opportunity to connect and show love because we are all one.

The HAPAwards will showcase celebrity presentations and cultural performances across different continents and cities starting from Los Angeles to Johannesburg in South Africa, Lagos, Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda, back to Chicago, New York, then Paris, Kenya and Congo to mention a few.

Some honorees for this year edition includes the Alara of Ilara, His Royal Majesty, Oba Olufolarin Ogunsanwo Telade IV and distinguished personalities like South African Showbiz Icon, Shauwn Mkhize; Hollywood Celebrities, Beverly Todd and Ernest Thomas along with the Music Legend, Koffi Olomide from Congo.

Over the years, HAPAwards has also honored other royalties like His Imperial Majesty, The Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi- Ojaja II, King of Swaziland, His Majesty, Ngwenyama King Mswati III, Former WBA Heavyweight Champion Honorable Gerrie Coetzee, Reverend Mother Abimbola Ajayi and Todd Bridges along with other select Politicians, Dignitaries, Hollywood & African A-List Actors, Musicians, Comedians and Activists.

The 2020 virtual edition will be streamed LIVE on HAPAwards website and across social media channels on Sunday October 18th, 2020 starting 12.00pm Pacific Time (USA), 7.00pm (Central Africa) and 8.00pm (Europe).

It promises to attract global participation and celebrities, business executives and everyday people can also watch LIVE on media networks like APPLE TV, ROKU and AMAZON FIRE.

The HAPAwards was founded in 2017 to bridge the cultural gap between Africa and the global community.

The awards is organized in collaboration with The I Dream 4 All Foundation to promote creativity, showcase unique talents with rich African heritage, and honor outstanding achievements by celebrities, community leaders and dignitaries.
