Robbers Burgle Redeemed Church, Cart Away Musical Equipment

Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Ojokoro area of Lagos, has lost their musical equipment to armed robbers, who burgled the church at night, carted away the items and escaped.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the Church located at Fadipe Street, Adura area of Ojokoro, Lagos.

According to Police sources, the robbers broke into the Church, gained access through the roof and damaged the door and burglary proof before carting away the items which included keyboard, mixers, microphones and others.

When the Church management got there in the morning, they discovered that the Church was burgled and the items stolen and they reported the incident to the Police.

The Police operatives at Ojokoro Division went into action and eventually arrested one of the suspects, a 20-year old, Yusuf Olatunji, for interrogation.

After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy, burglary and stealing.

He pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Remi  Akafo, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, granted him bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

He was remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.

The matter was adjourned till 13th October, 2020.
