Sanwo-Olu’s SSA On Sports, Orimoloye Advocates For Physical and Mental Well-being As Participants Storm Keep-Fit-Lagos 8.0
Senior Special Assistant to the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sports, Damilare Orimoloye, expressed satisfaction as record number of participants graced the monthly aerobics tagged “Keep-Fit-Lagos 8.0” held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos State.
The event received wide applause from the participants who lauded the initiative and thanked the Lagos State Government for creating the platform to promote physical and mental health.
The monthly aerobics initiative aimed at managing stress, contributing to effective body balance, enhances cardiovascular health among others to achieve optimal service delivery.
Before the commencement of the aerobic sessions, participants had their vitals checked by medical professionals and providers who were on hand to conduct tests for people to know their health status.
Speaking further, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sports Administration and Marketing, Onaopemipo Adu, said that it’s very important for the people to keep fit through regular exercise and getting information on the significance of their total well-being.
“One of the ways for the people to live a healthy lifestyle is to exercise their body and be conversant with valuable information on the needs of maintaining good health”.
Professional Fitness Coach, Maje Ayida said, “it’s necessary for us to be here today. There were alot of challenges facing people, so they need to be intentional about their exercise, be consistent doing it regularly. It helps physical fitness, but also mental health as well. So I encourage people to exercise more,”.
One of the participants, Ahmed Ameedat noted that her coming to the monthly exercise was not her first time and apart from the benefits of the initiative it also allowed her to meet different people from all walks of life.
Another participant, Akinsola Emmanuel applauded the organisers of the keep Fit Lagos for bringing people together from different part of the state, adding that it’s a good platform to be identified with while urging people to join the next edition.
The next edition will take place in Ikorodu, as subsequent editions will be in various centres.
