Conveying the appointment through a letter dated 26th February, 2020, the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, stated that Senator Adeola is the second Senator to represent the South West geopolitical zone from the National Assembly in the NEC of APC.
The President of the Senate stated that Senator Adeola’s nomination was pursuant of Article 12(3)XXXii, XXXV, and XXXVi of the Constitution of APC, which provides for the membership of the President of the Senate, Deputy Senate President of the Senate, Majority or Minority Leader, Party Whip and their deputies, and two serving Senators from each geo-political zone of the country as members of the National Executive Committee.
