The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, (APC, Lagos West), has been appointed into the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Conveying the appointment through a letter dated 26th February, 2020, the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, stated that Senator Adeola is the second Senator to represent the South West geopolitical zone from the National Assembly in the NEC of APC.

The President of the Senate stated that Senator Adeola’s nomination was pursuant of Article 12(3)XXXii, XXXV, and XXXVi of the Constitution of APC, which provides for the membership of the President of the Senate, Deputy Senate President of the Senate, Majority or Minority Leader, Party Whip and their deputies, and two serving Senators from each geo-political zone of the country as members of the National Executive Committee.

In his enthusiastic reaction to the appointment, Senator Adeola, a.k.a ‘Yayi’, said his consistent loyalty to the party since its formation and adherence to party directives before, during and after 2019 elections must be responsible for his appointment stressing that it is an opportunity for robust representation to further build the party and take it to greater heights.
