Senator Ali Wakili Is Dead!

The death has been announced of a member of the Red chambers of the National Assembly, Senator Ali Wakili.

The distinguished senator reportedly slumped this morning at his Gwarimpa, Abuja residence after which he was taken to Viewpoint Hospital within the estate.

His death has been confirmed by the President of the Senate, Senator Dr. Bukola Saraki.  Saraki in a statement signed by his Special Adviser (SA) on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, described Wakili as a vibrant lawmaker and public servant.

Before his death, 58-year-old Senator Ali Wakili served as the lawmaker representing Bauchi South Senatorial District. He also chaired the Senate Committee on Poverty Alleviation.

Senator Ali Wakili’s body was later taken to the National Mosque for the final prayers. The Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, Senator Dino Melaye, Senator Godswill Akpabio, other senators, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Rt.Hon. Rotimi Amaechi and other dignitaries were on ground for the final prayers.

His body was interred thereafter at the Gudu cemetery.
