Senator Victor Umeh Graces Soludo Victory Football Cup Finals

In a brief remark during the Governor-Elect – Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s Victory Under-17 Football Tournament held on the 12th of March at the Awka Stadium courtesy of the All Soludo Support Groups headed by Hon. Chinedu Nwoye (Glamour), the Special Guest, Senator Dr. Victor Umeh OFR (Ohamadike Ndigbo) commended the skillful display of the players particularly the Nnewi North Local Government Team (overall winners).

He expressed optimism that with the growing interest and support for sporting activities in the State, more skillful Anambra youths would be discovered and developed to be able to compete fervently at national and international levels.
He further commended the outgoing Governor Willie Obiano for his thoughtfulness in bequeathing Anambra State with the Awka Stadium which according to him is one of his legacy projects and would impact significantly on economic and human activities in the city when fully in use thereby described it as a “wonderful project”.


Senator Umeh thanked the organizers of the event for the choice of engaging Anambra youths gainfully in celebration of the victory of Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo and heralding his inauguration coming up in few days adding that ndị Anambra are anxious for the coming of “Governor Soludo” and “his magic wand in governance”.

Following the final match of the tournament between Nnewi North and Onitsha North in which Nnewi North emerged winner with four goals and not conceding anyone against Onitsha North (2nd winner), Senator Umeh presented the teams with medals and cash prices as well as the trophy marking the grand closure of the event.

The grand finale ceremony/match was presided by the Chairman of Idemili North LGA, Hon. Barr. Asha Nnabuife and witnessed by the Deputy Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Paschal Agbodike, the representative of Anaocha II Constituency, Hon. Sir Ejike Okechukwu (Ogbuefinukoefi), the C.E.O of Rogenny Tourist Village, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka (Ogilisi Igbo) and Managing Director of Anambra Signage and Advertisement Agency (ANSAA), Chief Jude Emecheta among others.
