Posted on October 10, 2025

Buruj Sports Academy’s sensation, Shola Abimbola, netted a brace in their commanding 2-0 victory over Leo Football Academy.

Buruj Sports Academy kicked off their clash against Leo Football Academy at exactly 4:00 PM, with midfielders Olayinka Habeeb and Raheem Salaudeen taking early control of the midfield as they aimed to dictate the tempo of the game. Despite their determination, the young Buruj players were forced into a few rushed decisions under pressure from Leo Football Academy’s more experienced players.

In the opening minutes, Shola Abimbola missed a golden 1v1 chance against the Leo goalkeeper — a moment that could have put Buruj Sports Academy ahead. Leo Football Academy responded with several dangerous attacks, but Buruj’s defense stood tall and absorbed the pressure effectively. A first-half substitution saw Anjola make way for Agemo Moses as Buruj looked to strengthen their midfield.

Both sides went into halftime level, with the first half ending goalless after a hard-fought contest.

The second half began with Leo Football Academy moving the ball around confidently, but Buruj Sports Academy quickly turned up the intensity, pressing high and forcing turnovers. As the pressure mounted, Leo’s midfield began to lose shape, and Buruj took full advantage.

In the 53rd minute, Olayinka Habeeb linked up neatly with Samuel, who delivered a sharp low square pass across goal for Shola Abimbola to calmly slot home into the bottom right corner — giving Buruj Sports Academy a deserved 1–0 lead.

Further substitutions followed: Agemo Moses made way for Daniel Gabriel, Ugochukwu replaced Abefe Fawas, and Ridwan Salaudeen came on for Erinle Abraham, adding fresh legs and energy to the side.

Confidence surged through the Buruj team, and their defense became nearly unbreakable as Leo’s attacking efforts failed to produce results. In the 62nd minute, Shola Abimbola struck again, doubling the advantage and completing his brace to make it 2–0 for Buruj Sports Academy.

As the game approached its closing stages, Raheem Salaudeen was replaced by Obiora Iyida, Prosper Anionovo came on for Tumise Todowede, and Samuel Ashefon made way for Eworitse Yomere. In the 95th minute, Anthony replaced the outstanding Shola Abimbola as Buruj saw out the game comfortably.

Buruj Sports Academy maintained full control until the final whistle, sealing a confident 2–0 full-time victory over Leo Football Academy — a performance that showcased discipline, teamwork, and attacking flair. #BurujSportsAcademy #burujfootballclub #Education #PleaseLikeFollowandShare #Facebook #istagram #Football #friendlymatch #worldcup #like
