Sweden Dep. Ambassador Hosts Nigerian Swedish Trade Fair Group, Promises Embassy’s Support For Expo

The Sweden Embassy in Nigeria has promised to support the organisation of the maiden Nigerian Swedish International Agriculture Trade Fair which holds in Brahegatan 11, Gamlestaden, Sweden from 29 -30 October, 2019.

The Deputy Ambassador, Her Excellency, Fanny Blander, hosted members of Nigerian Swedish Trade Fair Group at the Embassy on Wednesday in Asokoro, Abuja.

Blander, who received the delegation on behalf of the Ambassador, was glad that an event like the trade fair is happening in order to foster existing relationship between Sweden and Nigeria

She said: “This is the first time we are having this kind of event and I can assure you we are going to support it with all necessary effort.”

He also said that every intended participant from Nigeria should submit their visa application form latest next week for processing as the time is so close.

In his remarks, Executive Director of the leading partner in the organisation of the trade fair, Mr. Yahaya Majeed of Fesco Agalu Nigeria Limited, organiser of Agritech Nigeria, first-ever international agro technology exhibition and conference in Africa, told the Swedish Deputy Ambassador that the organisers are being driven by their patriotic spirit to ensure the relationship between Nigeria and Sweden is taken to the next level.

The trade fair is also being organised in conjunction with the Nigerian Embassy in Sweden.

Yahaya said: “We are here to present Nigerian Swedish International Agriculture Trade Fair coming up from 29-30 October in Sweden. This event is being organised to improve economic and bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Sweden, and to support the economic diversification of Nigerian government from crude oil to agriculture, and more importantly  for the country to achieve her Economic Reconstruction Programme (ERPG).

“We believe Your Excellency’s  support is very crucial to it success.”

Other  members of the Group on the trip to the Embassy included Mr. Ibraheem Bolude, Mr. Lawrence Remi and Mr. Sonny.

Meanwhile, preparation for the trade fair is gathering momentum in Sweden. The CEO of Nigerian Swedish Trade (NSTF) Group, Ms. Mary Brakner said a good number of supporters have signified their interests to partner with the organisers for the success of the trade expo. The supporters include Oge Pride of Sweden, NFKF Union Gõthenburg, Glios Org, Royal Air Maroc, Ria Money Transfer, Apple Hotel Gothenburg, Lanyem Media production,  Honey Brook Denmark and Scandavania Baltic.

Some associations and unions of different African countries have also indicated interest of being part of the trade fair. They are Somalia Organization, Tanzania Org. Tröhallattan, Union of Nigeria , Denmark (Unid) and  Gambia Union Goteborg.

The organiser, the Nigerian Swedish Trade Fair (NSTF) Group is a non-profit, non-political and non-governmental organization established with roots in Africa – Nigeria.

NSTF Group facilitates empowerment of the smallholder farmers in Africa to increase their productivity and hence play a major role in combating the global food insecurity problem.
