Team Lagos Sweep Asaba 2023 NYG Football Gold

The Eko boys and girls were outstanding in the finals of football events in the ongoing National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State as they cleared the two gold at stake to be the champions of the tournament.

The female teams of Lagos State whitewashed Team Ogun 5-0 in their final, while Team Plateau succumbed to the firepower of the Eko boys in a grudge encounter that ended 2-1.

 

Goals from Effiong Peace who netted two, Kemi Adegbuyi, Rodiat Yusuf and a own goal sealed the demolition fate of the Gateway state team for the Eko girls to pick the gold medal of the female football category.

 

For the male football, the Eko boys pipped Team Plateau through goals from Fawaz Salami and Semilore Adewusi, while their opponents could only reply with a lone goal.
