The Macallan Launches ‘A Night On Earth–The Journey’ In Nigeria

Incomparable single malt Scotch whisky, The Macallan, has debutted A Night On Earth – The Journey, in Nigeria on Saturday, 27 April 27, 2024, at the Smokes and Barrels, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Crafted to celebrate the warmth of homecoming and the journey to reunite with loved ones, this limited edition marked the second release in The Macallan’s A Night On Earth series and embodies the emotions of festive reunions.

Through an enthralling collaboration with Chinese mixed-media artist Nini Sum, the brand crafted a bespoke design that portrays the long voyage undertaken by those living far from home returning for festivities.

The packaging layers depict different stages of this journey; from expansive landscapes to urban scenes, culminating in the warmth of home.

Providing an experiential unboxing experience, the three-layered pack, inspired by the spirit of homecoming, has the first layer depicting an expansive landscape of the night sky strewn with stars and fireworks, progressing into a daylight scene of mountains wreathed with clouds.

The second layer featuring a blue colour palette with contemporary urban scenery creates contrast and surprise.

The bright streaks of colour signify the mass movement of people out of the city as they travel to visit family and friends. The third, with its amber and orange tones, symbolises the warmth of lantern light and the feeling of coming home.

Contained within this packaging lies A Night on Earth – The Journey, a golden elixir that captures a diverse range of flavours and notes.

Crafted by the Whisky Mastery Team with a commitment to excellence, this whisky offers aromas of toasted oak, citrus fruit, oat biscuits, vanilla, and creamy coconut milk pudding.

On the palate, notes of lemon, lime, vanilla, and toasted coconut intertwine, leading to a sweet toasted oak finish with a hint of vanilla. Bottled at 43 percent ABV, A Night on Earth – The Journey is a unique expression aged in first-fill American bourbon barrels and sherry-seasoned casks.
