West Africa Para Games: Team Nigeria’s 18 Medals Top Para Armwrestling Medal Table

Team Nigeria topped the media table for Armwrestling event at the ongoing 1st West Africa Para Games tagged Abeokuta 2025.
According to the results made available to the media by the technical committee of the event, Team Nigeria garnered 18 medals to top the medals table.
Team Nigeria won 7 gold,5 silver and 6 bronze medals while Ghana won 2 gold and 4 bronze and Benin Republic has 1 gold and 3 silver and Niger Republic has 2 silver medals to place fourth position.
In the PIUW +80 category; Nwadozuzu Grace (Nigeria) won gold, Boya Grace of Benin Republic picked silver and Clara Dickson.
Mimimolu Olabode (Nigeria) picked gold medal in PIU70 left, just as Morou Abdoulaye (Niger Republic) won silver and Wojuola Olasupo (Nigeria) won bronze.
In the PIU W70; Oloukou Amandine (Benin Republic), won gold with Nigeria’s Osewa Oluwatoyosi picked silver and Olusola Salami also of Nigeria won bronze medal.
Also, Nigeria’s Tajudeen Balogun picked gold in PIU80 left as Daclounon Emmanuel of Benin Republic won silver and Ayitey Nii Isaac of Ghana picked bronze.
Tahiru Haruna of Ghana won gold in PIU +90, Taiwo from Nigeria picked silver and Tawfidzi Franc (Ghana).
Speaking, President, Armwrestling Federation Engineer Samuel Jackson expressed satisfaction with the performance of the team Nigeria at the games noting that it will boost the country’s growth of the game.
With this result Nigeria has 174 points followed by, Ghana with 44 points and Benin 38 points, while Niger 22 points as Burundi has 14 points.
