WGB Lagos FA Cup: How We Defeated MFM Feeders – 36 Lion Coach

Head coach of 36 Lion Football Club, Olushola Akinrele has explained how his team bundled the MFM feeders’ team out of Winners Golden Bet Lagos State Challenge Cup.

The club humbled MF M Feeders team 2-1 on Friday at Epe centre to reach the round of 16 of Lagos FA Cup.

Akinrele boasted after the match that he purposely changed the tactical formation he applied in their two previous matches, adding that he was happy his players played to the formation.

“We won our two previous matches through penalties and we observed that MFM feeders are the better side. What we did was that we changed the way we played and we got a good result at the regulation time,” he said.

The dark-skinned coach commended his players for their determination and fighting spirit exhibited in their last two matches noted that his team deserved to be in the round of 16 of the competition.

In his own reaction, the chairman of 36 Lion, Liameed Gafar has praised his players for giving their best to reach the next stage of the competition and urged them to remain focused and shun social vices that can affect their performance in the next game.

In other results, FC Robo massacred Valliant 5-2, Messiah humbled BYT 2-0, First Bank lost 0-1 to Atlantic Business, Joy Commeth lost 5-6 on a penalty shootout to Billionaire FC after a barren draw at the regulation time, Box To Box thrashed Maryland FC 4-0 as Dannaz beat ODIC 2-1
