A platform for rising stars

Over 11 weeks, the ‘magnates’ competed in challenges that tested their technical skills, creativity, and ability to handle pressure. From haute couture gowns to avant-garde statements, each week brought bold new designs that pushed the boundaries of what African fashion can achieve.

Speaking on the inspiration behind the series, Omolade said: “I wanted to create a platform that elevates the fashion narrative in Africa. With Style Magnate, we’re not just showcasing designs; we’re celebrating stories, talent, and the limitless potential of African creatives.”

The stakes were high with ₦100 million worth of prizes up for grabs, including a N10 million cash prize, a three-month internship and a one-bedroom loft apartment, all towards propelling the winner’s career to new heights.

A finale to remember

The final five designers—Zuweirat, Sildek, Esther, Itunu, and Philip—faced their toughest challenge yet, creating a three-look collection for a star client.

Their work was judged by a panel of fashion heavyweights, including Mai Atafo, Ejiro Amos Tafiri, Ugo Monye, Tosin Ogundadegbe, and Yolanda Okereke, who evaluated the designs on creativity, execution, and vision.

Esther Okonta dazzled the judges with a collection that fused innovation with cultural storytelling, earning her the title of Style Magnate.

Reflecting on their journey, Esther Okonta said: “Winning Style Magnate is a dream come true. This platform has given me the confidence and exposure to take my brand to the next level.”
