Winners Emerge, As 2021 Asisat Oshoala Football4girls Tourney Ends Amid Pomp

The Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre, Onikan, Lagos was agog on Friday during the final of 2021 Asisat Oshoala Foundation organised Invitational Football4girls Tournament.
The final ceremony of the all-girl event, which featured girl football players from some selected academies and schools in Lagos, was colourful with the girls displaying football artistry that had been taught them during the three days annual competition, which reached its sixth edition this year.

In the academy’s category, after a 1-1 draw between Oracle Queens and Victory Queens, Oracle Queens won the game in 4-2 penalties, while the final in the school’s category saw Isale Eko Grammar School and Dolphin High School playing a 1-1 draw, but Isale Eko won the game with 5-4 penalties.
The Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the academy’s category went to Oladipupo Shukura of Oracle Queen. The MVP award in the school’s category was given to Ouwole Azeezat of Isale Eko Grammar School. Azeezat, who scored a total of three goals in the competition, also won the highest goal scorer award of the competition.

The tournament, which featured, among other things, mentorship sessions, life skills and medical programmes, was supported by the Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Sports Commission, Emzor Pharmaceuticals, UBA Foundation, Molped sanitary pad and Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, a philanthropist and founder of Nxtion Family, a Pentecostal Church based in London.
