A  34-year-old woman, Loveth Alo Helen, who allegedly gave a false testimony at Evangelist Ebuka Obi’s Zion Ministry of acquiring another man’s multi-million property has been arraigned in Court.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Helen was arraigned before the Enugu North Magisterial Court on Tuesday, 11th March, 2025, on four charges of defamation, conspiracy, felony, and false pretence.

Helen was alleged of making a false claim that she had purchased a five-bedroom duplex after receiving prayers from Evangelist Ebuka Obi of the Zion Prayer Ministry.

It turned out that Helen made a false representation that she owned a property located at Plot 16 WTC Estate, Enugu, which actually belongs to Arch. Emmanuel Asogwa.

But Helen reportedly presented herself as the owner of the house with intent to defraud and she was subsequently arrested and charged before the Court.

However,  she pleaded not guilty.

Helen’s defence counsel, Charles Nwodo, moved the motion for bail, which was not opposed by the Police prosecutor.

The Presiding Magistrate, S.O. Chukwuani, granted her bail in the sum of N1m with one surety in like sum, who must have tax clearance for at least three years.

The matter was adjourned till 9th April, 2025, for further hearing while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.

However, while she was being taken into custody, the defendant explained that she made the false testimony out of faith, believing that the house would eventually be hers. She denied any prior arrangement with others or that she had received money from anyone for the claim.

“I did the testimony claiming that I will get it. Nobody arranged anything with me, and I did not collect anything from anybody,” Helen explained.

She mentioned that she had visited the property for inspection and was in the process of acquiring it when she made the statement but did not pay any money to the owner.
