Woman, 45, Docked For Biting Off Lady’s Finger During Public Brawl

A lady, Chioma Ahamuefuna, had a nasty experience in Lagos as she got what she did not bargain for when she pointed her fingers at her rival neighbour, Idayat Olawore, during an exchange of hot words over an disclosed matter in their compound.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the 45-year old Idayat got angry, grabbed Chioma’s fingers, and bit off part of them in the process.
The victim, Chioma was said to have bled profusely causing the quarrel to end abruptly and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital in the area for treatment.
The incident happened at Samuel Manzu Street, Igando area of Lagos, where they reside.
The alleged assault was reported to the Police at Igando Division. The suspect Idayat was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the conduct.
She reportedly told the Police that she got angry when the victim pointed her finger close to her face. She said that she had to stop the lady by biting her finger but did not know it will be so deep.
After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for assault by biting off her right finger and the pulling her nail during the attack.
When she was arraigned, she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, A.K Dosumu, granted her bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood.
She was remanded in custody pending when she will perfect her bail conditions while the matter was further adjourned till 6th June 2022, for mention.
