Woman, 50, In Police Net For Killing 86-Year Old Woman During Public Fight

A 50-year old woman, Mrs. Sarah Abegunde, has landed in trouble after she engaged her 86-year old neighbour, Agatha Dare, in a public fight and killed her in the process. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Mrs. Abegunde, has been arrested for the alleged murder and currently detained at the Ondo State Command undergoing interrogation over the alleged offence.
The suspect was paraded alongside others at the Command Headquarters in Akure on Friday, 23rd December, 2023.
According to the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Funmilayo Odunlami, Mrs. Abegunde throttled the deceased and pushed her during a fight, she fell down, became unconscious and died on the spot.
“On 18th December, 2022, one Abegunde Sarah ‘f’ aged 50, and Agatha Dare ‘f’ aged 86, both of the same compound were involved in a fight. The suspect, Abegunde Sarah, pressed the old Agatha’s throat and pushed her, immediately the deceased became unconscious and died on the spot.”
The corpse was taken to an undisclosed hospital for autopsy report while the alleged murder was reported to the Police and the suspect was arrested and detained for the alleged offence.
SP Odunlami stated that the suspect will be charged before the Court for murder after the conclusion of investigations by the Police. She may spend the rest of his life in custody over the conduct if she is tried and found guilty.
