Referee, Mateu Lahoz, has been sent home and will no longer officiate at the remaining matches of the 2022 World Cup currently taking place in Qatar.

According to COPE, Lahoz’s final game was the feisty quarter-final clash between Argentina and Netherlands, where he issued out an incredible 15 yellow cards.

Lahoz’s performance was not well received by either team – with Argentina’s players, particularly vocal about his officiating.
