Having watched the Super Eagles played a score draw with the visiting Simbas of Congo Democratic Republic in an international friendly game that left so much to be desired from millions of football fans in the country, former Nigeria Captain,  Joseph Yobo, has assured that the Super Eagles will not disappoint at the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals in Russia.

Yobo, the former Everton FC of England defender disclosed in an exclusive chat with PM EXPRESS that the Super Eagles were very cautious in their approach to the game played in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Monday due to the fact that most of the players are careful not to ruin their playing at the world by getting injured in the game .

“The game was not bad. The players were all very careful because they didn’t want to be injured . It was a good game and I am very sure that the coach might have seen some things to work on with the team as they continue the preparation for the World Cup. This team will not disappoint Nigerians in Russia, ” Yobo said.

” The friendly game against England is very  important to further  test the preparation of the team for the World Cup. I am very certain that the team will play better and continue to improve going into the World Cup,” he added.

The former Super Eagles captain featured for Nigeria at three editions of the World Cup in 2002, 2010 and 2014 before hanging his boot from the national team and his eventual retirement two years later.
