17- year old inventor Gift Duke, a final year secondary school student at Agbor Technical College, Delta State has been awarded scholarship by the Isaac Moghalu Foundation (IMOF).

The young Gift captured hearts and minds at a programme organized by the Anioma Peoples Development Think Tank forum on the 30th of December, 2017, in Asaba, Delta State, where he demonstrated his invention of a water level control device for water tanks.

The tertiary institution scholarship award was announced by Prof. Kingsley Moghalu (Professor of Practice in International Business and Public Policy at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, Former Deputy Governor of CBN) on behalf of the Isaac Moghalu Foundation. The Isaac Moghalu Foundation was founded in 2005 in memory of his late father Isaac Moghalu.

Prof. Moghalu was the Keynote Speaker at the event which centered on how leadership, an innovation economy and exports of complex products can help Nigeria end oil-dependency-induced poverty. The young Gift Duke demonstrated his invention of a water level control device for water tanks at the event and the professor of Practice in International Business and Public Policy was moved by his feat.

In a chat with P.M.EXPRESS after the event, the former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria stated that the young inventor received the scholarship because he appeared clearly as the face of the future we want for our country – a knowledge economy that can drive entrepreneurship and create new jobs. He advised that we must encourage anyone and anything that can create new jobs in order to grow a viral and strong economy for our country.

A visibly elated Gift Duke expressed his gratitude to Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, the Isaac Moghalu Foundation and the Anioma Peoples Development Think Tank for the opportunity of furthering his education and for believing in him.
