28 Suspected Traffic Robbers Arrested

It appeared that robbers have no hiding place in Lagos following the measures taken by the new Acting Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Imohinmi Edgal since he took charge of the command.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that it was either the robbers who attempted were arrested or their operations kiboshed.
The latest was the arrest of no fewer than 28 hoodlums who attacked motorists in traffic
gridlock in the Oshodi area of Lagos. The identity of the suspects were not yet disclosed but their photographs were taken as at the time of filing this report.
P.M .EXPRESS gathered that the hoodlums were arrested in the early hours of Saturday by Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS led by CSP Ahmed Sanusi through intelligence report and
surveillances in the area during traffic period.
It was scooped that the police team had monitored the activities of the hoodlums over a period of time before the SARS struck, arrested the suspects, while others escaped.
The police boss who confirmed the arrest used the opportunity to inform the members
of the public that their safety was guaranteed in the state.
Edgal urged the victims of traffic robbers in the area to visit the State SARS office Ikeja and assist in identifying some of the arrested suspects. He said the suspects will be charged to court on Monday 13th, November 2017.
He went further to promise that the police command will do all it takes to locate criminal hideouts
and arrest more suspected traffic robbers to make for the free movement of Lagosians, and ensure they feel safe to go about their daily activities especially as the Yuletide period
was fast approaching.
P.M.EXPRESS had reported that the robbers had been having difficulties operating as the police had continued to frustrate their operations in the state.
Recently three robbery operations were foiled in Area M Command, Idimu where the police recovered guns, live ammunition and three motorcycles which the robbers used to operation.
Though, the robbers escaped, the police sources said the police team have commenced manhunt to arrest the suspects in their hideouts.
