A 20-year old girl has reportedly been gang raped in Lagos by five men who forcefully engaged her in sex romp one after the other.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Asiwaju Crescent, Elepe Road in Ikorodu area of Lagos where they reside.

After the dastardly act, the men allowed her to go but by then the victim was already exhausted and badly injured in her private part.

The matter was reported to the police and the victim was taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
It was gathered that the victim was lured into an apartment where the suspects surfaced and forced her to remove her pant. The men thereafter moved her to the bed where she was raped in turns.
The police trailed the suspects and eventually arrested one of the suspects and he transferred to the Gender Section of the Command.

After interrogation, the suspect, Dayo Olawole, 25, was found culpable. He was later charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and rape by penetration with the other suspects at large.
The Court did not take his plea but ordered him to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail.
The prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice since the charges against them were capital offences that may attract several years in prison.
Thus the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat, directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.

The matter was adjourned till 8th July, 2019.
The matter may be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds him culpable and recommends his trial for the alleged offence.
